Fostering Hope

We are investing in life-changing relationships to help vulnerable children and their families take steps closer to Christ.

We have the Hope.

Indiana is in crisis.

Reports to the child abuse hotline have risen dramatically in the past year.

Foster care provides temporary, safe homes for children who cannot currently live with their parents or guardians, with the ultimate goal of reunification. In some cases, adoption becomes an option if parental rights are terminated.

Today, about 17,000 Indiana children need care outside their homes. While foster parents are not paid, they do receive financial reimbursement based on each child’s needs.

Licensing typically takes four to six months, and you can choose the age, gender, and number of children that fit your family’s comfort level.

JOIN A CARE COMMUNITY

Over 50% of foster families will quit after the first placement largely due to isolation and lack of support. But when supported through a Care Community, then 90% will continue fostering for at least 3 years.

Nationally, 50% of foster families quit after the first year or after their first placement, primarily because they didn’t feel supported. The Care Communities model has been proven to retain up to 90% of those foster parents.

A Care Community is a group of 4-8 people/households who come around a foster family to support them. Care Communities members volunteer 1-2 times per month by providing meals, helping with childcare, mentoring, transportation, household duties, and other practical support as needed.
